Well, in fairness - that's a pretty substantial list of drawbacks for the SCAR - even more so than with the ACR. The breakages are of particular concern, since the likelihood of securing replacement parts is going to be next to impossible.

I'm not saying the SCAR platform in general is a lemon, I said I'd hate to be stuck with one if it turns out my particular gun is a lemon... Especially stuck dealing with Questar. If the customer service I received for my ACR is any indication of how they would handle a malfunctioning SCAR, that owner is in for a big surprise!...but that's another story for another thread.
 
you guys have given me a lot to think about... I've been clinging to the hopes that an FRT would be issued based on glimmers of hope here and there... but now I'm evaluating whether or not it would be better to seek a refund as well.

That would be unlikely since under the LGR, for the most part, they were classified as they should have been. Pretty hard to go back and re-classify and provide any meaningful justification. i know...I am a dreamer!
 
why not contact Questar? If people are requesting refunds, it only stands to reasons that there would be spots available unless Questar isn't accepting any more reservations.

I sure hope so! that arx160 looks great. berretta makes some great firearms!!

I just hope we don't have to wait another 2-3 years.
 
Hi Questar,

Is it possible for you to provide us some news about the situation of the SCAR periodically? Maybe at least once a month? I hope that you can understand that certain people, including me of course, had paid you $4K for more than one and a half year. The wait is getting extremely annoying. I know things is out of your hand but still you are holding our hard earned money and it is not how your serve your customer.

I think it would be nice if you can provide us some update monthly, rather than just ignoring our request. I know that your have your own strategy and according to you any disclosure may ruin your plan. So I suggest that rather than communicating here you can still email all the buyers about the situation. You have to showed us that you are really working on something. I believe that even the situation is going nowhere it is still better if you are still talking to us.

That's just my idea.

i couldn't imagine keeping $4k tied up!
 
I understand it is hard to imagine. But this is the truth. All the people who preordered were being charged fully in Sep or October of 2010. By now I believe many of them have already cancelled their preordered but I am sure there are still someone left like me. Trust me I don't really want my $4K to be tied up. But what happen if I cancel my order now and the next day the rifle is classified?

i guess by now you've kind of written off that $4K and not too dependent on it at the current time.

sucks they are sitting here making interest off their customers money
