What do you prefer for scent removal before the hunt? I want to hear some tricks or stories that people have...I dont do any thing crazy. Just the usual wash clothes in scent remover, and spray down before going into the bush. I've heard about boiling cedar and pine needles, then straining the water and usingi t to spray yourself as a cover scent. Any one else trying anything? Also, I have seen more and more ozonators being converted to put out negative ions into an air tight clothes bag and kill all scent bacteria. I've been thinking of making one for around $200 as they sell for closer to $500 in hunting stores.

I sprinkle a little baking soda in my hunting tote and in my boots. Also I shower with scent free soap and shampoo. Other than that I never use any formal scent system. I try to place myself downwind or in a stand to avoid getting winded.

Baking soda in my boots, unsented soap and deoderant, unsented detergent for clothes.

I work the wind, rather than buying a scent control system.
With a secnt control system you are basically inefficient unless you are within a bubble.
What I mean is, your breat has saent, it must be covered, You're skin has sent, it must not be exposed anywhere. You're body has sent, all opening at the neck, sleeves, leg bottoms, etc etc cannot have air escape.

Here something to try. Go buy your best scent control syestem and put a pheasant in the jacket and close the jacket. Go downwind with a Gordon Setter otr English Setter and see if he stands.

I did this, and the dog always got the scent.

I have a german Shepherd that can find anything i hide by scent. I put a apir of my wifes socks in my friends charcoal something or other jacket and hid it on the trail. We walked down the trail, and he walked passed it, turned around and went out in the bush and found it.

I have little faith in these systems, ,,, if theres a bead of sweat on your brow, you are sending sent everywhere.

I use the wind...Barely do anything else. If you can't kep an eye on the wind, you aren't going to be successful.

Your sCent isn't going to get trapped up by sCent blocker clothes. :)

I tend to agree with all of that. I try to get myself downwind of the deer, and never had a problem. I do keep my hunting clothes in a black garbage bag, with cedar boughs and leaves, and I also spay my boots with a scent eliminator, but that is the extent of my scent control system.
