Schedual C of bc hunting synopsis reads that" Schedule "c" animals can be captured or killed anywhere and at anytime". Does this mean you can kill those animals listed even in city limits???

It means exactly how it reads, they may be captured or killed anywhere or at any time.

You do have to follow means legal at the locale where you are at, ie. most cities have laws banning the discharge of firearms within city limits. Some even go so far as banning bows and airguns. You could legally kill it, but must use other means of eradicating the critter, like traps, clubs etc.

My roomates are trying to tell me its animal cruelty ... ie if I killled a rabbit at uvic or vic gen hospital......... I could see that being a problem since it is private property and such and would need permission from the property owners...... I e-mailed the BC fish and wild life for clarification on the subject....

Unless you can prove you killed the rabbit while defending your life!

Exactly....YOu can kill these species at any time, but you must do it lawfully. That means, no shooitng a sched c animal with a shotgun in Stanley Park..
And yes, on private property, you cannot hunt or kill anything witout permission.

BAsically, you have to comply wiht most of the regulations, but if you do, you can kill these species with impunity.

For example, if it is your property, you can kill them with a slingshot, if slingshots/hunting are not prohibited via bylaw

Victoria probably has a "no hunting" bylaw, so you probbaly can't even do it on your property there.

No, it means you do not need a License, Tags, or to wait for a season to open.

It is not permission to shoot or hunt in places that you otherwise would not be allowed.

Feel free to think otherwise, but remember who goes to court for it! You!

Take a good look at the local bylaws, and see what they say about discharge of firearms in the municipality.
Also, look at how that municipality defines a firearm. Some places include slingshots and archery gear as firearms for the purpose of the bylaws.

There is some fine print in there that Qhergt has not mentioned that says you must have a hunting license to shoot certain species on the Schedule C list. You can do this at anytime in a place where shooting is legal, but must have a valid license to do so.

for crow, raven, magpies and cow birds you need a license unless you are hunting them on YOUR property or they are damaging your property....... all other species on the list you dont need a licnce for
