thats all i got. For the full write up, look those up on wikipidia. Maybe someone else can fill in the blanks for me.
If your punching holes in paper wad cutters are the best.
I dont really have a use for Jacketed rounds. Other than the cheap surplus. and hollow points are ment for hunting. as the bullet expands on impact tearing open a big hole.

JHP: Jacketed Hollow Point
Assuming those guesses are anywhere near correct, wadcutter ammo is specially designed for target shooting. Rather than punching through the paper and leaving a tear, it leaves a neat hole. Is useful for getting precise measurements of group size.
Boat tail bullets have a bottom like this \_/, apparently this does something with the ballistics of the bullet. I'm not sure if it has any affect on tumbling, I'd have to actually look it up. All I know is that boat tail bullets are easier for me to seat in a case when reloading.
Full metal Jacket ammo tends to have excellent penetration with minimal expansion, in some cases it is intended to separate into multiple parts, or tumble on impact, and increase the wound channel. Good for getting around the Hague Convention restriction on using expanding ammunition in warfare.
Jacketed hollowpoint ammunition is sort of the middle ground between wadcutters and full metal jacket. It has decent expansion and the metal jacket allows for faster velocities without the lead core or barrel suffering too much.

Bullet acronyms can be a combination of features of the above such as:

LRNFP - Lead Round Nose Flat Point

Each bullet company uses slightly different acronyms for their product lines, it's best to grab a couple catalogs and browse through them to see what draws your eye.
The old copies of Guns Annual, make pretty decent outhouse reading, if yer one of them what keeps a library next to the crapper!

Its total metal jacket. If you pulled the bullet you would see the base is covered in a jacket too. With fmj the base isnt covered and the lead is exposed.
