Here is the listing from Tradeex.

What can I expect from this rifle? Is it only single shot? Any idea how small the aperture is? Will it have a safety? I wouldn't mind taking it out moose hunting if it has some of these features. Thanks in advance.

The CG63 [for CARL GUSTAF] is a single-shot target rifle based on the Swedish Carl Gustaf Mauser rifle, and converted in or around 1963. It will, like every Mauser derivative ever made, have a safety catch - mine has the usual Mauser 'flag' on the back of the bolt. A later version is called the CG80, and for the same reasons.

The Hasilke target-dedicated diopter sight is not much use for moose hunting, or any other animal that does not look like a ten-inch diameter black dot at 300m. On mine, the sight is actually set for that precise distance and no other. If you have actually the one shown in the illustration, then it has a left-handed stock, but then again, you might just be left-handed. It is also based on a rifle that was at least fifty-six years old when it was converted into a target rifle - that '63' is the date of conversion. They can be strikingly accurate with the right load - Nosler make some beautiful hunting bullets in the 140 and 123gr range. Norma make factory ammunition in the 140gr range for a price that would cripple a small nation. Reloading is THE way to go. I use 140gr Nosler FMJ for target shooting over 47gr of N163. Spookily accurate, too.

Horses for courses, Sir. You have bought a left-handed single-shot 300m match rifle to go shooting moose. You might hit it somewhere, but knowing exactly where might be the problem with a sight has has such a restricted field of view.

Thanks for the info. I have tons of other rifles for moose hunting so no harm. I will have fun dialing this in and developing a load for it.

Remember that is made to shoot the 140gr bullet for match rifle purposes. Mine throws the 123gr bullets all over the landscape with reckless abandon.

Enjoy your tons of rifles.

They are all equipped with the same 5 shot magazine as their parent rifle the M1896 Swedish Mauser any that are now single shot were modified as such by a previous owner.
