So I just bought a diamondback db9 fs on the EE, but I know basically nothing about this particular firearm. I don't have it yet, waiting on transfer then shipping still...

I have checked youtube and Google for reviews, but it leaves me with some questions...

First, there is talk of two different generations. Anyone know what's different from one to the other? I have no idea which I bought...

Second, magazines. So I know they are modified berreta 92 mags, and I saw Ganderite's post about how to modify a 92 mag to work... my questions are can you get actual diamondback mags in Canada? (I couldn't find any on Google) And if not, does the berreta mag leave a big gap at the bottom of the grip because it doesn't have the big base plate of the db9 mags? What's the best source for 92 mags if db mags aren't available?

Third, holsters. Anyone one a holster that fits without breaking the bank? I have never bought a holster so I have no idea what I'm looking for, other than I'd like it to be usable in ipsc production division in case I ever get into that (been on my to do list for a while, but I've been too busy with school)

That's all I've got so far. If I think of anything else I'll add it...

Thanks!

Yes, there are two different generations. The older generation didn't support Glock sights the second does, and may also have slightly better tolerances, I had but not longer have both generations.

You can't get the mags that I've seen now, but you can double check. They were avaialble through IRG when they first imported them, you may be able to source them there. I use to have a Beretta 92 too, you do have to notch the mags, never did this myself, but given the different lengths and but plates don't expect it to look great, but it should function.

No holsters that I know of (if I remember correctly) I know the Glock holsters I had at the time wouldn't work. I do think there was an Uncle Mikes tactial reflex that would work with it, I can check for some of my old posts on it.

Thanks. At first I was like sweet! Those are nice prices... Then I realized $45 holster sounds good, but add $28 shipping and I'm assuming exchange rate too, and all the sudden its kinda pricey lol

Although it looks like shipping in the states is free... Are holsters ITAR?? What about magazines??.... (edit: Looks like holsters are not ITAR. Nice.)

So if Beretta 92 mags work in this, could you use a 96 mag for the extra capacity? Or would the fact you have to modify the beretta mags to lock in make the 96 a prohib device in conjunction with the diamondback pistol? (Im thinking the later?)

I found the Fobus SP-11 holster fits my DBFS9.

This holster also fits SIG 220, Ruger P345, M&P9, M&P40, Granp Power K100 & XTrim, SIG 226.

My google-fu tells me thats a holster designed for the Springfield XD? How good is the fit? Would you be worried about it falling out if you were to run with it?

So that gives me two Fobus options, the SP-11, or the Evolution... Anyone have an opinion on which of these two options might be the better one? I am entirely new to holsters, I have no idea what I'm looking for, other than I'd like it to be usable for IPSC production division.

The holster has a screw, just forward of the trigger guard to adjust retention. My holster has the screw removed, so is at minimum retention. If I turn it upside down, the DBFS9 falls out.

I think I took the screw out to accommodate the fatter M&P 9.

This is a good holster for the pistol.

That looks pretty good. This type of holster is allowed for IPSC production division, right?
