Was just looking at these and was wondering if its possible to drill and tap for a scope? has anybody done this? is it worth it.
Thanks Shaun
IMHO, totally worth it (getting the gun D&T'd for scope. funny thing, i got my gun and was stumped for which bases to use, and Mr. Hitzy told me the
weaver #45 bases, both front and rear. correct! they have the perfect curve on them to fit the receiver. I did not get my gun modified like Hitzy - meaning it looks like the barrel has been trimmed back on that gun. her is what the gun with scope looks like. everything is massive about it.
before i made the investment i wanted to see how the gun shot with the peeps and after this i chose to scope it. this is 10 shots at 50 yd since there were no inserts for the front sight i brought along a selection of targets with various bulls eye dia. to fit what came with the gun. it made a big difference which was kinda distressing, i guess a post might work out the best for real life stuff,
Or, pay the money to have it drilled and tapped. but first i had to shoot it to see if the barrel was at least half way ok. it was
then the scope went on and this ws the first outing
it does perform better and more consistantly for me with the more expensive S&K ammo. but the CCI is fine in a pinch here is my best target and i got all excited and spilled the coffee all over it
i got one with the adjustable trigger and so far i have not, nor will i touch a thing as the trigger is lovely. the whole gun is amazing except for where some knob was sanding in strange places, maybe to make a face fit, i have not bothered refinishing it yet, i just shoot it,
it ejects terribly, in fact i do not think that there is an actual ejector on it. there is a strong extractor, but no ejector plunger, or post. i keep thinking that contriving some post to help spit the hulls out would be nice.
have fun!
