Scope a marlin

I need a scope for my wife's 30-30 marlin, I'm thinking a red dot in 1.5 to 4.5, any thoughts?

i like fixed 4x compact scopes with leup low mounts on marlins. looks good and is lightweight and sits low. i have used this setup on a few different marlins over the years.

I just bought a Leupold VXII 1-4x20 scope off the EE here. I have QWR Leupold low rings sitting in 2 pcs Warne bases. It is going on my 45/70 guide gun. Should make a great brush gun. Now I just have to wait for it to get here to put it on and try it out.

I've got a Leupold FXII fixed 4 on my XLR and it works great, keep the rings as low as you can get and all will be good.

If you have to scope it I'd recommend going with a fixed 2.5x Leupold.
