Ok boys Im on a budget here but I need a scope that will handle the recoil of a 7mm Rem Mag and the price I can work with is like $200-250 is this hopeless??:(

Search through EE, there was a few with good eye relief on there, for a hunting gun, leupold 1-4, fixed 4 or 6 power, you would be hard pressed to get better than a 6x leupold for quality and excellent eye relief. May run you $300 for a beat up job with perfect glass.
Another option may be a low power var, in the 3200, 4200 series bushnell. Just look around, and don't waste money on something that will give you a touch of scope eye. :)

For $200 it's hard to beat a Bushnell Elite 3200 in 2-7 or 3-9. Can be had for that price occasionally, as mentioned keep your eyes peeled on the EE as they tend to sell rather quickly.

i vote with levi its hard to beat a leup fixed 4 or 6 used from the ee's. i love my fixed power scopes, there always on the correct power no forgeting you turned your varitable up to 9x last time you were at the range.

I guess it all depends on your age, eh Ian? Some of us are still young enough that our memories are intact and we don't forget to turn down the magnification :p .

scope update

Went to see Jeff , Joanne, & Mark at accuracy plus (Peterborough);) yesterday and they hooked me up with a mint "used" Leupold 3x9x40 VXII for $200 They were cool enough to take the original Bushnell back and knocked $100 bucks off the $200!:p They have my business for life now. They were simply awesome. And the scope has amazing glass. Im sighting it in today!

This scope retails for an awful lot compared to what I got it for. So Im very happy. So its the Tikka T3 in 7mm Rem Mag with a Leupold VXII, and 160 grain Federal Premium Nosler Partitions. Im stoked!!!:p :p :p :p :p

I didnt get a "Deal" they just wanted me to be happy and they excel in customer service! Way to go guys!:D

well jerry least i'm not in need of high magnification scopes yet. and yes it was about 20 years ago i had a varitable set high and watched a moose slip into the trees at less than 50yds cause i couldn't find him in the scope.

I have a Bushnell 3200 3-9x40 on my 7mm Rem Mag and it works great. Seems to keep POI well, and is very clear. I would recomend this scope; especially at its price :)
