I took my .22 out the other day and although I like the clarity of the VXII I don't like the change in eye relief when the magnification changes. What AO scope would have similar clarity without the change in eye relief?

Maybe try adjusting your scope position instead. Most scopes may change eye relief from 4" to 3" when going to a higher magnification. I typically set my scope up at the mid point magnification and go from there. That way when I go low or high I don't have to move my cheek placement much or at all.

There are many out there that have constant eye relief, I guess figure out what you would like to spend and go from there and maybe see what the CGN crowd figures.

I like Zeiss Conquest scopes, they are in the mid-range price bracket and good value for the quality.

I had thought of that after I posted this. I'll give it a try.

I don't know if you have the instructions for the Leupold. It recommends that you setup your eye relief at maximum setting. If setup that way, the proper way, you will always have proper eye relief. Morale of the story... RTFM! :D

Just kidding with you guys. :) I know the vast majority of folks do not read the manual.
