I have a full power weihrauch hw80K, the tube is grooved for some kind of mount or rings. Can anyone recommend me a compact scope that can handle the springers recoil? Prefer something 2.5-5x but a fixed 2.5 or 3 x would be fine too

Hawke scopes and mounts are hard to beat for quality and price.
D&L Airguns and AGS in Peterborough carries them....

Sorry, but do not use Hawke mounts (scopes, certainly). I did that with my 80K and the pointed stop pin left a nice scratch on the top. I recommend Sportsmatch UK mounts, rock solid. Worth getting a Wheeler torque screwdriver to make sure everything is tightened correctly too.

I have an 80K/.22 full power and Sportsmatch one piece mounts all the way.Rock solid........Harold

That's exactly the combo I put on mine! As mentioned before, I was glad I bought the Wheeler fat wrench screwdriver to make sure everything was torqued as it should be to ensure slipping. The HW80 is quite a beast and the recoil is severe. I put a Vortek kit in mine to calm it down a bit, though I wish I'd gone 12 ft lb instead of full power, it still helped though.

I have the Votek kit in mine as well and it smoothed things right down..........running around 750 fps with 16gr Predators and JSB Exacts.Kills grouse dead.Harold

Just as you thought you had finished spending money putting a scope on it...!
See how you get on but mine was very jumpy and the kit calmed it down though with the short K barrel it is quite hard to ####.
I did it myself, though after about an hour of sweating, swearing and cutting my hands to shreds decided I had to make a spring compressor to get it back together, which I rigged up with some pieces of wood and a car jack.

I find it difficult understanding why a $600+ air rifle needs a "tuning kit" to function properly.......someone please enlighten me.
