I can not fit my scope on the existing base of my ruger 10/22 ,what base should I get ??

Is it the old style Ruger scope base? The newer ones are more standard and will take 3/8" and 1/2" Weaver-style rings.

If you're looking for an actual Weaver mount, I think it's TO-9.

The rugeer is only less than a year old and the scope is a Tasco a $50 one so I need to replace rings that came with the scope ?

I don't like the weaver base, find it to thin..... I use the power custom base which is approx 2x as thick and mounts the scope a lot more firmly. and you can usually get away with low or medium rings depending on the objective lens size.

I use the regular weaver base. It comes loose sometimes so I am going to blue locktite it to the receiver with 15 inch/lbs of torque tomorrow.

I'm using the VQ base as mentioned about with buris Zee rings

Ditto. I use the same config and am very pleased with the results. Like Josh, I also locktited and torqued the PC base when I installed it.
