Brand new Savage Mk II
Brand new Banner 6-18 50mm
Brand new 1" weaver rings

I can get the elevation bang on, but with the banners windage all the way to the right, I am still shooting 2.5-3" to the left of bullseye.

What do I do??? The bases on the savage must be drilled and tapped wrong? Can i get rings that have some sort of adjustable windage?

help!! :runaway:

Don't panic just yet. Your problem is not unusal. I have personally encounted the same problem a few times. I have since bought a ring alignment and lapping set. The first time I used one I wish I had one 20 years ago. But since you may not have one you may be able to fix your windage problem by just turning your rear ring around. Torque from the set screw can pull the ring slightly to the side. Put a drop of oil on the clamping area to help seat it (some may disagree with this method but it works for me). If you get improvement with turning your ring but not quite enough, then turn your front ring as well. You may be surprised that this may be all that is wrong. I hope this helps. Let me know how you make out.

You blew it on the rings. Get Redfield, Leupold or Burris STEEL Bases and rings. All are adjustable for windage on the base. You have already spent alot of money....finish it right.
