For the life of me, I can't find it on their web site or in their catalog. What sort of bases (and rings?) come with the Mark II line, specifically the BV and BTVS?

The BTVS has a two piece Weaver style base, actually I think they are both the same. Damn the BTVS is a nice gun. I'm thinking of getting the .22 LR version from S.I.R.

Thanks Ren.

Agreed! Had the opertunity to shoot one of the first retail guns in Canada, or at least the #1 and #2 guns in Ontario.....which is why #3 is now on order.

Johnny jumped on the bandwagon:dancingbanana: and got a 10/22 on saturday, the next purchase will be the btvs. The high cap mags pulled me to the darkside.

Let us know how it performs, it's still on my list. A bit off topic but I'm pretty happy with the 10/22, cycling wise it beats my 597, but it's not as accurate.

bases

savage uses a #twelve weaver base on both the front and the rear of the mark II rifles

And other than the fact that they are aluminum and softer than my Burris Sig Zee rings, seem to be fine. Probably change them out for steel sooner than later.

As for the shooting, with Lapua Super Club, I'm getting dime-sized 10shot groups off the bench at 50 yards. Still getting used to the trigger and the gun is by no means broken in yet.

I have the 22 LR Mark II-G. Not a synthetic guy, I still get .5 to 1" groups at 50y and that was the first outing to sight in the scope. I want a nicer scope and more time will bring my groups in.
