I picked up an older Remington 740 and it had a scope mounted on it. I took it to the range and its abit out so I wanted to do some adjusting... well low and behold the scope REFUSES to budge... like I can not for the life of me turn the nobs... They refuse to move... Both windage and elevation.

Help!!

What can I do?

I'm kinda new to the game but my brand new varmit scope on my .22 didn't give me any problem at all.

Bushnell scope chief command post 4x No. A390633 It shows that its been used, some paint marks around the heavier used areas ( front of sight, adjustment caps and focus adjustment). Under the caps it looks good to me.

Send it in. Don't be too awful surprised if they tell you it isn't covered because of age, and offer you a "special price" on something that isn't that special.

I've never had that happen with Bushnell. I took several old, inexpensive scopes in for service over the years, most recently about 2 years ago. They didn't have parts in some cases, and they always replaced it with something at least as good, on the spot. I understand they are much slower when you are forced to deal with them by mail, but I was always impressed with the service I got from them.

I sent in a Bushnell I was suspecting to have issues. They told me they didnt make that model anymore and gave me top dollar for it so I could get an Elite.

Guess I'll be sending it in. It does seem like a decent scope and its really clear so I hope whatever I get is similar if they can't fix a 40/50 year old scope.

Where do you take them other than mailing them ??

Sorry, I should have clarified...the warranty center for Bushnell is in Toronto (Markham, actually). I lived not for from there until late last year.

Any future dealings I have with them will be by mail...maybe my opinion of their service will change then.

If you know any Gun Nutz in the GTA to whom you could send your scope, that might be a faster way to get service.

Thanks for the clarification ! I currently have one there and need to mail another one......maybe it's a sign I need to try something else !!

I notice some people have no love for bushnell.

It's certainly not a "hate" thing, I have 4 of them. I have Nikon, Burris, Vortex & Eotech optics also. The Bushnell's are near the bottom of the heap as far as holding zero over extended time & image "crispness". They are OK scopes but not "awesome".

You definitely get what you pay for. Bushnells are generally cheaper cost & cheaper grade than some of the great stuff.
