Fellows I need some advice. I have a couple of choices for scopes to mount on my new unfired Sako 25-06 from the mid 70's and Iam not certain of which way is the best way to go. I have a Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40 or a Bushnell 4200 4-16x40. Please advise. FS

A 25-06 can go the distance...why cut it's legs short with a 3-9? I'd be mounting the 4-16 on her and learn to use those semi-target turrets out at range. A high B/C bullet selection like the Nosler AccuBond will get the job done on mid sized game very well.

Similar dilema ... 25-06 for both deer hunting & varmints.

Solution: Leupold VXII 2-7 in QR rings/mount - swap it off with a
VXII 6-18 in QR rings onto the same base. When scopes
are switched, 100 yard zero is within 1/2" or closer, of
where it was.

Works for me.

Now that's just smart!

Thanks guys Zeiss it is, and I'm just hunting deer with this rifle. A bud of mine here in Alberta just retired from Bushnell and so I kinda "stocked up" on rifle scopes, ya know if a guy can get a good deal on something like that, geez other than perhaps a rimfire I got enough scopes to last quite a while, FS
