Building a 6mmbr - looking for a good quality scope. I have a burris black diamond (4-16x50) but my limited knowledge says more power is required, that and target turrets would be nice! Thinking about a sightron lll or bushnell 6500. Looking for your input - pros and cons. Thanks in advance for your valued feedback. Oh, by the way - will be used primarily for gophers, yotes and paper out to 600 yrds. Cheers

im in the same boat as you at the moment. Looking for a scope for my Sendero. Was originally going to go with the 6500 but after many hours of research, my mind has changed. I have heard nothign good about the Bushnell warranty and have also heard that the 6500 drops off at around 26X. The glass isnt all that great either. Now, for the sightrons, thats a different story. One of the best scopes for dialing. They track right on, shot after shot. People have been saying that the glass is on par with leupold and NF glass. The is a great review on westernshooter.com that you could check out. i have also heard that the customer service through Sightron is amazing compared to bushnell. Again.... .this is just everything that i have heard from my many hours doing scope research over the past month. Im currently in the search for an SIII 6-24x50 but they are super hard to find in Canada. Mysticplayer deals with them but he says they are on backorder and doesnt expect to get them for at least a month. Just make sure that if you do get a Sightron that it is out of their new batch of Scopes.

Sightron may be good scopes for the money, but do not expect any timely warranty work. Hirsch Precision is getting out of selling Sightron due to lengthy warranty times, and changing rules at head office. This info is listed on another thread.
Having said that...look into Leupold 8.5x25 scopes, Nightforce 5.5x22, or 12x42.
How is it even remotely possible to research a scope without putting the thing against your eyeball?
Nothing good about Bushnell warranty? I buy broken Bushnell's and bring them in, they get replaced on the spot with brand new ones, takes about 10 minutes.
Skip the "many hours" of research, find a dealer that will let you take a few outside and go from there, all the reading in the world will not tell you what you are going to see when you look down a scope, outside.

And I'm giving advice on the Internet cause he is asking for advice on the Internet. I said right in my post that it was just everthing that I gave "heard or read". End of story. I've looked through a 6500 and then a mark 4 and the mark 4 was better quality all around. Then again. Look what scope I was comparing it to. I'm in the midst of trying to find a sightron to look at but cannot find any around me. No one seems to carry them. I'm just trying to get the best bang for my buck. And I can't afford a new NF or ZEiss or any of the top end scopes. No point in buying low and trading up. Might as well just get it right right off the start
