I'm looking for some optics for my 686. They'll be used for slow-fire bullseye shooting, and basically to test the accuracy of various hand-loads. I'm leaning towards a red-dot.
My only concerns are really that it's accurate, and can handle hot .357 recoil. Since I shoot exclusively indoors, rain/fog/etc are non-issues.
My question is: how does the dot MOA contribute to the level of precision? Is a smaller dot always better? I don't know anything about optics at all, other than that my eyes are the weak link in my shooting ability, and I'd like to minimize the negative effect of their crappiness as much as possible.
Also, for what I need it for, would I be better to go with a long-eye-relief scope instead?
