Hey all,
I'm looking at putting a scope on an old 22 LR that I plan on using for rabbit and grouse. I'd like it to be good up to 75-100 yds if possible. Any suggestions for an appropriate scope (fixed or variable) in the 100-200$ range would be appreciated. Thanks :)

Tasco 3-9 x 32 at Cabelas is a nice cheap scope, includes rings and a .22 Boresnake. They were just on sale a month ago, but regular $72 I believe. Mine is just fine.

The economy has beat us down but we still have a little pride left.;)
We have an older 1.5-5x33mm bushnell trophy on our old beater coey bolt 22lr.

I'm a fan of burris. I put a timberline 4.5-14x on my new cz 455 american red (!!!! Have not shot it yet, but it is ###y!) It was just over $300. I needed another scope for my sr10/22, so i managed to snag a used msr 4-9x from wolverine supplies for under $200.
My simmons 4-9x was $50 lol. The simmons works too. I just bought it for a cheap stevens/savage. For 22lr i feel i don't need much more than a 9x scope anyways

We like their very solid bases and rings.
Never tried one of their scopes.

Simmons, barska and the tasco junk scopes not so much.

.22 rifles are one of those things I'm not going to spend a lot of money on a scope for. I slapped a Simmons 4-9x32 on mine and I can shoot out to 100 yards with no issue.

Shot a guy's .22 this past weekend that had a nice Leupold scope on. Nicer glass? Yes. I shot the same groups as with the Simmons. I'm not declaring them equivalent, just saying I've never been able to justify to myself the extra expense.

I've got a Vortex Diamondback 2-7x35mm rimfire on my CZ 455 American .22LR. Great little scope for less than $300 and it's preset for regular rimfire shooting distances. If you're going to go for a scope that is not rimfire specific (ie something you'd put on a centerfire) make sure it had adjustable parallax.

My 22lr runs a super cheap 3-9x32. It's the cheap bushnell 22 scope, paid like $37+tax on sale. Before this scope, it wore a 4x40mm fixed power AIM scope from amazon. I wanted more magnification for range work, otherwise I would have stuck with the AIM.

The glass doesn't hold up well compared to my 1" vortex viper, but I wouldn't expect it to at practically 10% of the price.

If you want to spend more, I hear really good things about the nikon prostaff rimfire, they go for $150-180ish
