Scope for .22lr

I am in the same situation you are. I was/am looking for a scope that will allow me to do 50m work for accuracy and reach out to 200 yards for practicing wind reading. I was initially set on the 36x either Weaver or Sightron but further research has found that unless I was setting up on bags and have a front rest for a rock steady hold the crosshairs on the 36x would dance all over the paper at the 100 and 200 yards. (I am using a Harris Bipod). It was suggested that I look at the equipment of silhouette shooters. They use variables scopes in the 6-24 or 8-32 range with great success. I have decided to get the 6-24 variable, but there has been allot of positive reviews of the Burris 8-32 scope.
Of note if your are going to shoot out to 200 yards with a 22 most scopes will not have elevation to get you there. You can get the Burris zee series rings with offsetting inserts to give you an additional 20-30 moa or a pitcanny rail. This should give you enough elevation for what you’re looking to do.
