Scope for a .22 under $100

Spend an extra 50-100 bucks and get something you'll enjoy. Get a cheapee and you wont be able to see clearly and you'll be buying a better one within a year!

Ok... so we're talking about 150 -200 $.
Can you recommend one?

I think we're still in the same business as with the 100$ sticker.
The only ones that offer AO under 200 are the chicom KO.
Bugbuster comes to mind....

For the real scope, those that you buy w/o regret..... start @ 5-800.

I got one with 4MOA red dot and changing reticles....
One advice: don't get the one with changing reticles. get the one with one only POA changes on the one with multi....

I use it for hunting. Good tool. Both eyes opened... dead grouse every time.

I don't know what to say about target shooting with it, but like Nine said, for plinking.... the best

Hello,

My purpose is mostly gopher shooting (feeding hawks).

Feeding hawks changes me from being a killer into a soft hearted (headed) raptor restaurateur and possible nomination for PETA's man of the year and date with Pamela Anderson award.

I use a Tasco Varminter 2.5 X 10. This is on a 10/22 were only the receiver is original and the rest is Volq. This scope has an adjustable objective which I think is almost mandatory for a .22. It also has a reticule with dots for adjusting aim for distance and wind. the low power is good for scanning a field looking for gophers and the 10 power is plenty for a .22.

The previous scope was a good quality scope in the $500. range. It was a good scope but just wasn't made for the job.
I have been very happy with the Tasco and am planning to see how it stands up on a 223. A friend of mine has used one on his 223 for over a year with lots of use. He is very happy with it.

The other good news is that it can be bought for around $100.00. This may be a very rare instance with optics where you get more than you pay for.

Good luck,

Al

You add the www.
I own a half dozen Futong scopes. I've had to send one back, and got a new replacment. I have yet to have one fail while on a rifle. I like the 4x-16x for a hunting rifle, and the 8x-32x is great on an accurate .22 .

I just re-read the original post, sorry.
For the 552, I'd recommend:

It's not a perfect scope, there is some spherical distortion around the edges of the field; but it's really small for a 3x-9x. and the center of the field is just fine. And you'll be looking at a price of about $50 CAD before taxes and shipping.
