Scope for a 30-30 lever advise needed

Hi folks..... Well I'm wanting a scope on my 30-30 lever.... Will a 2-7x32work? It's a vortex rim fire that I'm looking at but not sure if that's the best choice? Any advise please

I put a 2-7x28 Leupold on my 336.
Fits like a surgical gluv.

2-7x32 is perfect. However, go with a centerfire scope. I have a 2-7x33 leupold on mine.

I ended up with red field 2-7x33 with Leupold rings .... Looks good so far.... I'll site in in this week.....

I put a fixed 2.3 extended eye relief Leopold on my Win 94 on a scout no gunsmithing mount.
Balance is good. hasn't really changes and its fast.
Not a lot of range time yet but what I have done is good.

Put a Leupold 2x7x33 rifleman on my 336. Works perfect.

2x7 is lots for a .30-30, perhaps even overkill. A 1-3x or a straight 4x is plenty for .30-30 work.

I took it to the range.
I like the scout concept.
Super quick, both eye's open and it doesn't change the balance of the rifle.
For the ranges I will be using at the 2.3 power is all I will need.
I can't wait for November to come

I sure like the Leupold 2-7x33. I have 2 of them on 2 of my 30-30 model 94 AE's. They are fanfrickentastic

I put a Leupold vx-6 6x24mm-30mm-multicoated on mine!

Seriously though, the only scopes I have used on 30-30s have been straight 2.5 or 3X power. Had a 1.5-4.5 on one for a while, but never needed the high range, so went back to a fixed 3X.

I have several 2-7 Leupolds on rifles, and can see how one would be handy for judging deer in poor light, but never worried about that, and pretty sure anyone hunting trophy animals probably isn't hunting with a 30-30.

Having said all that, most of this is personal preference, and preferences change with experience. The important thing is to enjoy the experience!
