Scope for a .458wm

What's a good scope, fixed power or variable, eye relief also being a big consideration, to mount on a .458wm?

Leupold, can stand the recoil, and great eye relief. You will want 4+ inches of eye relief.

I prefer lower power. I'd go with a fixed 2.5x Leupold or a 1.5-5x Leupold. My 458 is an "irons only" proposition, but my 416 Rigby wears a 1.5-5x Leupold. It's becoming one of my favourite scopes. I'd put it on damned near anything.

i have a leupold fxII 2.5x fixed 'scout' scope on my 45 70 guide gun, and im very happy with it, its IER, and you have to be something like 6-8" away from it, its comfortable for me in that position too

I have a Burris scout style scope on my 458wm. This gives me about 8" of ER which is nice on a big recoiling gun.

I have a Burris Fullfield II in 1.75-5 power on my 45-70. I bet it'ld work great on a 458 as well.....

My no. 1 choice would be a fixed 2.5X Leupold - probably the toughest scope made.

No. 2 is a tossup between a Leupold 1.5-5X and a Burris 1.75-5X Signature with a post-and-crosshair reticle.
