Guys I'm looking for some help in choosing a scope for my M/L. I can't afford to spend a fortune at the moment. I just need something that will suit my needs. Any recomendations? Thanks in advance for the help.

Dave.

Bushnell Banner or Bushnell Trophy. They're around $100 or so. Anything cheaper is a waste of money. I personally would go with a low power. 1.5-4.5x32 or something similar, but a 3-9x40 works nicely as well.

scopes ?

dave , i dont know where you are located , if you are near toronto try bass proshops see what they have instock , personally i use a ,bsa 6 x 24 x 40 , illuminated mill dot on my 303 , and a friend of mine uses one on his , 30-06 with exelent results he uses his in service rifle matches , my next trip to toronto im buying another for my , 308 heavy barrelled match gun as well, good luck in your hunt for optics , pat

If you really want to save money, keep it simple, as in fixed power, and look for decent used stuff in working order - I've had good luck with old Weavers. I have a K4 on my muzzleloader, and if the target is too far to be seen properly with that, I know I probably couldn't hit it with a muzzleloader anyway.

I use a Leupold M-8 4x33 on my Omega. They (Leupold) have replaced the "M-8" line with what they call the "FX-II" line(upgraded glass etc.).They are around 400 bucks. Not sure if this is too much dough for you or not but they are a super little scope.

I personally would not waste time on a Bushnell Banner. The one on my Rem 700 ML lasted a few seasons B4 the recoil got to it and loosened the guts. I have since put on a Leupold VX1. Works great and is clear.

I'll give any Leupold the thumbs up over a Banner or Trophy, but I just don't like friction adjustments, and to me, a "fortune" is about $200.
