I 've got a Leatherwood M-1000 on a ARMs 18 on one - but I need a riser to make it comfortable. Looking for a qualiy replacement peep for the other.

How do you like the M-1000? I have their M-1200 on my Rem 700. And another HiLux on my AIA Enfield. I like their products and was looking at getting the M-1000 for my M14.

What Brand of scopes are you guys using on your m305. I have heard that the m305 is hard on scopes. I was wondering what scopes most people are using on their guns. lets see some pics of your set up.

I have been looking at the Vortex Crossfire II 4-12x50 but I wonder if it would take the abuse the from m305.

The mount I use is McCann Industries. Sits higher so no issues with casings falling back in. Fits tight, hasn't moved since I installed it. I have been trying a number of scopes to test which is best. I'm ultimately going to go with the Leatherwood M-1000 Camputer.

Bushnell 3200 Elite 10x40 Mildot
Sadlak mount
TPS TSR 'W' rings (low)

can still use the iron sights, as the Sadlak mount is relieved in the center to allow their use and the low rings mount the 40mm scope at the perfect height.

for target use I use a Super Sniper 20x, Leupold QD rings, promag mount. Most of my blasting and gong use I use a Leupold fake 3.5-10x M3, it seems to work great, tracks and repeats, I have only put about 700 rds thru with it installed.

forgot to add:

the M14 platform has some of the best iron sights on a production centerfire rifle. when i was shopping around for a scope mounting system, it was absolutely imperative that it retain the capability to fall back to iron sights if needed.

IMHO it is a massive disadvantage when your mount blocks your iron sights, or worse - replaces the rear sight altogether.

here here. Thats why i think if I go for optics on my M305 it will be a scout scope set up with the utg rail....

Find myself some QD rings and pop the scope on and off at will.

Leupold VXI with BDC reticle, Smith Ent M21 see through mount, and Leupold QRW rings in case I want to ditch the scope. I don't need fancy, just reliable.

The scope is decent enough,I like it. But-the the whole assembly with the rifle is too heavy and it rises quite high above the rifle. I also had to remove the rear peep, which I would have preferred not to do. The auto ranging works but I need to use it a bit more before I could truthfully reccomend/not reccomend it.

Yeah, you had to remove the peep site because of the Aim mount. Mine is higher so should clear. I did have the M1200 on the M14 once to see the height. I don't have a problem with that. Hopefully I will get the M1000 for Xmas:D

I'm using the same scope with TPS rings and an ARMS 18 mount.

I'm happy with the scope and rest of the set up, though I can not use the irons while it it mounted.

Here is the set up I am looking to go with. I found this picture on the net. I like the low profile of the ARMS 18 and the ability to remove the scope using the ARMS 22 rings to use the irons. Does anyone know what size of ARMS 22 rings I would have to use to clear the rear iron sight? is anyone using this set up that could comment on it?

I've use a leupold 3.5x9-40 with low rings, Millet MDS scopes/low rings from dlask, aimpoint and all have held up nicely. Currently my 2 x M14 rifles have no scopes on them but do have ARMS 18 mounts ... I removed to practice more with the irons.

Leupold Compact 2-7x28mm mounted low on a UTG 4-point see-through rail. It holds zero and tracks well, plus it's only a slight cheek weld adjustment to look under to use the irons. :)

Ive gone in a similar direction, an Aimpoint COMP ML2 mounted to the UTG tri-rail upper hand guard. The Aimpoint is great but if needed I can just pop it off and the top rail has a channel that runs right down the entire length of the top rail and the irons light up perfectly along this channel.
