Scope for a Midland?

Hey folks,

My dad has a Midland (Midland is the company name, not the model from Parker-Hale. Unless of course, Midland *is* Parker-Hale? That was always a bit confusing) .270 bolt action, think might have been made in the 70's or there abouts and I'm wondering what sort of scope/scope mount would work for it?
Does anyone know anything else about this brand/gun? I've checked their site, but it seems to be down at the moment (being updated or some such).

Many thanks!

ETA: sorry if this is in the wrong form, mods - feel free to move it if need be!

Had one in 30-06. Needed a smaller reticle scope on it because of the bolt handle. Due yourself a favor and buy the weaver style mounts, not ParkerHale. The PH rings are sometimes $$$ if you can find them.

On my old Midland .30-06, I mounted a 4x40 wide angle Bushnell Scopechief. I used Weaver bases and "high" rings to clear the large diameter ocular lens and it worked fine for bolt clearance.
