Scope for air rifle

I have a diana 34 on the way from ssso. Looking for a "good valued" scope recommendations for my new purchase. I have a bushnell 3200 3-9x40 lying around, but correct me if im wrong... i dont think itll take the punishment of a springer, and its also lacking AO. Any decent glass out there for an air rifle, with optics similar to my 3200 for under150$. Any "great buys" out there?

FYI, I use mostly leupold vx3 on my hunting rifles, sightron s111 on my bench gun and a high mag mueller on my 10/22. So i guess you can say i enjoy nice crisp optics.

From what I read all current Leupold, Burris and Bushnell are design for springers and rifles, Weaver, Simmons, Tasco are not, but they make scopes for springers especially.
 
In the case of Bushnell I recently read a post of a letter where they stated any of their AO scopes were suitable for airguns. Nothing about the rest.
 
Leapers or Hawke scopes are decent for the price and will handle airgun recoil, not the optical quality you are used to however.
FWIW - I have used a 3200 3-9x40 Bushnell on my Diana 460 and not had problems.
Enjoy your 34 they are a great shooter.

My Hawke scope is the optical equal of any Bushnell/Weaver/Simmons etc. I've ever looked through! It's not a Nightforce or Sightron but the cost was much lower.
 
Hello All...............One thing to consider is warranty replacement.....Bushnell has an excellent replacement warranty...try that with most others...........KEN.
 
You should have talked about this with the people at SSSO, you might have been able to cut a deal on your scope. Call them and see what they say.

Hawke has their own website and can ship to Canada. They replace defective scopes. Do a search on "Hawke" on this site and see what's been discussed previously.
 
I've had this Hawke http://www.dlairgun.com/Scopes/Hawke/022_AirMax_EV_3-9x40_AO_HK5172.html on my Diana for two years now...I'd say at least 10,000 shots and nary an issue.
It replaced a Bushnell Banner and their is no comparison...the Hawke is much better optically.
And you don't needed to go to the 'States...if you notice the link I gave you is to what is considered by many to be the best airgun shop in Canada (D&L in Langley). Same price as the Hawke website...less shipping and they usually have it at your door in about 4 days.
Another great thing about this scope is it uses the Map 6 reticle that can then be used with Hawkes excellent downloadable airgun ballistics program http://www.hawkeoptics.com/chairgun.html
 
I bought a Hawke 3-9 endurance (map8) to put on my springer....sadly it never got mounted on it. Found a home on a .22, and I love it there.

I bought it at a show, after emailing the dealer for ages about an NCstar scope. The business was just changing hands...I'll try to find my info, but it's been 3 years.
 
i have an elite 2x7 on my 34. i set the parallex to 25 yds no problems yet. btw get the mount from rws with the 4 screws. its the only mount that i tried on my 34 and didnt let the scope creep backwards.
 
I think BSA still makes a good line of air gun scopes. I never owned one, myself, but I remember people saying good things about them years back.

Make sure you put in that stopper screw on the rear of the scope base, on your Diana. It backs against the scope ring, and stops the scope from moving backward from the spring recoil and vibration.
 
I ended up buying a Leapers 4-16X40 (SCP-U4164AORGW) scope from DLairgun. Was shooting with friends last weekend and we were hitting empty cans of tomatoes @ 65 yrds with little effort. I'm really surprised how accurate that air rifle is. Shooting H&N FTT's.
 
Leapers make a nice value scopes that can take abuse pretty well. I had one on my M14 for several hundred rounds and it held up fine.

The only problems are the short eye relief and thick cross hairs. Which is not a problem for airguns and rimfires.
 
I have a Hawke scope on my Diana 350. Very pleased with it. I think it is a lot of scope for the money. Tried to buy one in Canada (wanted a specific model) but ended up ordering direct from Hawke in US. Their service was great.
