This has to do with milsurp and optics, unsure of which forum to put it in... so here goes.

I took my latest milsurp purchase out to the range on Saturday. It's a sporterized no 1 mk III, BSAC, 1917, original barrel & irons, drilled & tapped when i got it with a 1 piece weaver TO1 mount ( I think? ). I was using an old weaver 2.5x steel tube scope on it at 25 yds and it worked great there, but when i fired at 100yds, the scope adjustments were inconsistent, mushy, and the reticle started was moving a bit. The mount and rings were nice and tight too. I have concluded that i need a new scope, but am unsure of sticking with a classic looking weaver, or trying something a bit more modern and seeing what my rifle can do at longer ranges. Any suggestions for scope models to try... what model scopes do you have on your milsurps and what results do you get?

I have no scopes (yet), but I asked the exact question a while ago. Everyone recommended a weaver K series or a Bushnell Trophy. (I think I got the product lines right, I am not that knowledgeable in the scope dept) As a wallet friendly scope which will do for the .303's effective range.
