Hi,

I've decided that I want to scope my cooey 60 bolt action .22. I know that I need Weaver No.2 side mounts, which I can get from SIR. Now I must decide on a scope. I've narrowed it down to two possible set ups.

1. A used, but VG condition Tasco 4x32, with tasco rings, Butler Creek flip up covers and weaver side mount. About 50$

2. A used, but VG Bushnell Buckhorn 3-9x40 with Weaver rings, Butler Creek flip up covers and Weaver side mount. About 120$

I would like to keep the cost as low as possible, but I still want a good set up.Basically what I need to know is if the Tasco set up is good enough or if it is worth it to go for the Busnell set up.

Thanks

just some thoughts, other CGN members will have better ideas and tech advice on this.

i have been using a bushnell 3x-9x 22 scope, but understand i am better off with a good clear 4x scope, even a larger scope generally reserved for centerfire, for the better glass, etc.

the 22 has a range and ballistics that a 4x is all you need for regular plinking and distance out to 100 yards, and slighty beyond that. regards

Thanks for your input. I believe I probably will go with the tasco so I can buy some .22 bricks with the extra money. What I need to know now is whether or not the tasco rings will work on a weaver mount.

The Cooey came drilled and tapped for scope mounts, but I'm not sure if the Weaver #2 will work with the current drilled/tapped holes. Here is a picture of the holes on the reciever of the Cooey.
