What kind of scope do you guys have on your 77/22's? I rec'd one w/ a Bushnell Banner 3-9x40 but the bolt doesn't clear the ocular bell so removing the bolt is a bit of a pain. I think the rings are medium. Thanks!
Its really going to depend on what you are going to be using the scope for and what you are willing to pay for one.
Are you going to be target shooting or mainly hunting? If hunting maybe a Bushnell 3200 3-9 or another scope like that would be a good choice, if you are going to be target shooting a 6-24 scope might work better. If a combination of both a 4-16 would be an excellent choice.
If you're sure the bolt will clear the ocular bell of an Elite 3200/3000 then I'll probably get one of those since I really like those scopes. My main concern isn't really which scope to get as opposed to getting one that will fit properly.
I am not sure if it will clear or not. Maybe some higher rings would work or maybe sliding the scope forward or back would fix the problem. The banners are probably preatty similar to the 3200's/4200's in exterior design.
Is it just hitting the ocular or hitting it by "a lot"?
Ok, thanks a lot for the feedback....guess it's a somewhat common issue.
cz452shooter, there's plenty of room to cycle the bolt. The problem is that the bolt can't be removed unless I take off the scope, otherwise I'd have to really force it....kind of a nuisance for a perfectionist.
I have a 3200 3-9X40 on my K77/22 stainless/synthetic. The bolt just clears the ocular bell and will brush against it if I hold the bolt up all the way back. But it does clear.
Thanks a lot for the replies folks; it's appreciated.
I just bought this gun off the EE a few weeks ago for my bro....we took it shooting again today and he's decided he doesn't want to keep it. I also just figured out that if I pull the bolt back sharply it comes out fine; when I pull it back slowly it gets stuck on the ocular bell. Strange but there you have it.
