Looking for recommendations for a scope for my Savage 10TR in 308 with a 20" bbl. I put a Burris Fullfield E1 3-9x40 in medium rings on it, first range trip will be in a couple of days. It's probably good enough for the maximum 200 yard shooting I'll be doing, but if I was to replace it, with a budget of $400-500, what would you guys recommend?
Also...I've been using red dots for years, don't know anything really about scopes...the way the Burris is mounted, in medium rings, there's barely a hair's clearance between the bottom of the scope, about mid-way from where the objective begins to flare out and the end, and the top of the rail (long rail, short scope). They're not touching, but it's very close, and I can't move it any farther forward and still see through it. Will this be an issue?
