Scope for semi-auto 223

Hey everyone, looking for scope recommendations for a semi-auto 223. Main use as a coyote gun but I would like to have the capability to shoot out too 300yds for recreational use. Thanks in advance

I enjoy using an LPVO.

Try going to a LGS and see if you could look through a handful.

Give a try to the Vortex Venom 1-6, or the strike eagle 1-6.

1x-6x or 1x-8x lpvo. I believe that a number of optics manufacturers offer scopes in this class.

If you're looking to dump a coyotes at 300 yards a 1-6x would be fine.

Maybe a 3-12x unless you need a 1x for urban coyotes

Athlon Helos BTR GEN2 2-12x42 is what I'm using. I find 2-12 is great, find one with a reticle that works for you.

My preference for that criteria is a 1-8 LPVO. My eyes aren't awesome and so like the magnification plus the near true 1x.

Anything will do as long as the scope height is properly set. 223 have almost no recoil.

Athlon Helos BTR GEN2 2-12x42 is what I'm using. I find 2-12 is great, find one with a reticle that works for you.

Phenomenal scope - maybe a touch heavy at 25.4oz and overkill on the magnification for what OP is looking for though

Schmit and bender 1-8x 24 cc…turn dial one way and you have a 1.1 power turn the other way and you have 8 power

This Bushnell 1-6 is on sale and comes with a mount. I bought one and am happy with it.

I bought a 1-6 strike eagle a couple years ago, not worth the money. Actually just swapped it off for something else this past weekend, finally had enough of it.

I replaced it with a 6-24 Bushnell Match Pro, maybe a bit overkill but I've been happy with it on other rifles.

Agreed. I had one too and was very disappointed. The glass on those is worse than a 50 year old Japan made scope for $50.

Many new people overlook those older scopes because they are so cheap and often a bit scratched up but the glass on those often beat the crap out of newer scopes.

I just grabbed a viper pst 5 to 25 for a 556 bolt gun and love it! The field of view is pretty narrow if you were trying to take 50 yard shots on a moving target. I plan to do more range time than hunting so I went bigger but I'd highly recommend it the 1 to 8 or 6 and 4 to 16 in the same product line were all excellent.

Depends on how close you think you'll be for strenght of glass.

Ive got a Primary Arms SFP 1x6 ACCS illuminated reticle in a QD PEPR cantilever mount on an MR1.

Works great but its heavy.
