How much money must one spend to put a decent scope on a Tikka T3 Lite? I'm undecided between 243/7mm08/308 caliber, if that changes anything. I'm a type of guy who appreciates a good bang for his buck. I want a scope for both hunting and bench rest shooting.

I think your order is wrong.
It should start with the 308win, then the 7mm-08 and what was the
other one?
Scopes, 3x9x40 would suffice and the flavor would be up to you and
your pocket book.

if you want to hunt and benchrest shoot... id be looking at somthing outher then a t3light to be honest
if you havnt bought the rifle yet, there is better choices in the same price range... the t3lite is a just that a light weight light countour barrel hunting rifle..
or do u plan to put the scope on different rifles?

Like which rifle should I be looking at exactly? I'm looking for a more serious hunting gun, and something which I can have fun with at the range bench rest shooting 20ish shots @100yrds.
Oh ya, I forgot to mention, I like a scope that has above average magnification. I have a 4-16x on my 22wmr and I love it. The high zoom doesn't bother me and it doubles as a spotting scope if need be...

Leupold VX2 3-9x40 or 4-12x40 get my vote (Actually the VX3 would be my first, but more $$) . Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9x40 or Burris Fullfield II next.
