Hi folks. I’m wondering about setting up a 457 Varmint for ORPS shooting on a limited budget, as I only will be shooting it occasionally. I have a 457 Varmint that I originally mounted the scope on quite high for offhand silhouette shooting, but I found it was awkward on the props for supported shooting. I’m shopping for a ffp scope with a mildot reticle to be able to do holdovers and was wondering about scope height and rings. Can anyone suggest a good setup for this style of shooting with say, a 30mm tube, 50mm objective?

Pretty standard set up would be a 34mm Arken, Venom, Midas Tac, Match-Pro, etc... with a 30-50MOA rail and medium rings.

If you are going to get into ORPS, consider getting a scope set-up that will be fun for you to go shoot a 300y CRPS match or a long gong competition.
