I am getting my XCR this week, was just looking for some advice for a scope. This is my first black rifle so i dont know too much about the optics. What are some that you guys use and like. I would like one for possibly shooting out to 300+ yards if needed. I am thinking i would like illuminated, not over 500$ I have a vortex for my other rifle and love it. Any advice is appreciated. It depends on what specifically you want to do with it. I have a XCR-L and have a vortex Razor 5x20 on it. It is fantastic but I am mostly using mine at the range and no close up shooting. I like to be able to see my bullet strikes thru my scope and the higher power is perfect for that. It is too heavy with that big scope for a carry rifle though, so you'll have to pick your use, or buy more then one scope. That's why I have mine mounted on a quick detach mount so I can match my scope to my rifle, depending on what I'm doing.
