I bought a mauser and it has a 2.5 fixed power Bushnell Banner with the T-post scope on it with Leopold mounts .. I wanted to mount a more powerful scope, and a friend gave me a Fire field ..4-16x40 scope to try too see what would fit as far as height .. length and eye relief .. the mounting distance is five inches on the scope he gave me to try and my gun requires six inches between the mounts .
I went to a gun show on the weekend and they had a 2.5 - 10 x50 Bushnell there and it was just six inches.
So that would give me zero room to move the scope forward or back ..
My question is .. Is there a line of scopes that have a longer body .. Or am I stuck with a scope with 32 mm end .. Right now the front mount is almost flush with the front of the scope ,
