I think it's time for me to rebuild the scope mount for my No1Mk3. The current set up is like this:

The mount is made of aluminum and takes 5/8 weaver base rings. To seriously considering of taking this gun for hunting, I think I really have to upgrade the scope mount and rings.

Now I need you guys input and suggestions.

Cad Techik makes a no drilling required scope mount that replaces the 2 screws on the left side of receiver. Not sure if it fits on all models of enfields or not, they are around 70-80 US.

I would argue you can do just fine with that setup, but I would get better rings. The gun has already been drilled and tapped, so short of doing it to bigger screws, like 8x40 there isn't much else available thats worth the money.
Some Millett rings might do you better, but that looks pretty reasonable, for the rifle its attached to.

Looks like excellent Weaver TO-1 steel base. Needs Weaver TO-1 steel rings or other with 22 mating capability, but can handle 30 cal. recoil.
I took out 2 bears in British Columbia with simular set up.

You should be able to change over to a Parker Hale 24 one piece top mount. holes may even line up. It is much more rigid and uses their rings. A much better set up than the Weaver TOS you have on the rifle.

I do have one spare Parker Hale one piece mount #24that I would sell. Someone emailed me on this however I deleted it without responding. Pls PM me back! Thanks, Ron

Thanks guys! I ended up buying a new pair of tip-off weaver rings which was specifically designed for LE. Just put it on, looks pretty solid. But a trip to the range will prove everything.
