Scope mount and rings for Savage 12F/TR

Just ordered this rifle today in .308 cal. It should be here within a week. I want to mount a Leupold VXII 6-18x40 AO target scope that I have until I can save up for a better scope. Does anyone have this rifle and how did you mount your scope? Thanks.

I have a Savage 12 LRPV, same action - Target.... I use Ken Farrell 30MOA stell base - works great

2nd for the Farrell base and too it with TPS rings.

You can order the TPS rings right from the factory in Washington State.

Be glad you have the 40mm objective. I have a Leupold FX-III in 12x40AO, and a model 12VLP. Plain-vanilla Leupold bases and *low* rings fit just beautifully. Great cheek weld, even, $60 at WSS; what's not to like?

i would go with burris signature zee rings

My 12 LRPV is currently decorated with the Leupold standard 2-piece base (the one with a windage adjustment on the rear base) with standard low rings (40mm objective). Thus far, no issues.

Gonna order my third set of Near Manufacturing stuff for my Savage BR.

My LRPV and Model 10 have his stuff on them. Made in Alberta.
