So I recently upgraded my norinco with a tear down and rebuild seminar with the m14 doctor. Then I purchased the Blackfeather "rs" stock, followed by a CTR buttstock, AFG and pistol grip (all magpul, tryin to do this right). And now this is where I need your help. I have a red dot sight I'd like to attach. Should I have it at the rear sight location (over the trigger) and if so, how do I do it? The blackfeather stock has no top rail. Or do I buy one of those ARMS scope mounts and have it located more forward on the rifle?

M14.CA has a red dot sight that sits in your rear sight pocket on the receiver or they have the casm mount if you want to have room for cyourvred dot plus a magnifier. Both these options utilize the rear battle sight pocket but the casm allows use of the front sight backup system. If you want to keep the rear sight intact, you will need to use a side mount on the receiver. Lots of options.......
I didn't even see that until you pointed it out. I've spent over a grand on a $450 dollar gun so far and that blackfeather shg is $220. I'll probably have to wait a month or so to justify spending that after dropping $1000 on everything else. Lol. I was hoping to find a less expensive alternative in the meantime.
The m14ca rail looks good . What type of red dot are you going to use ?

Ultimak M8 rail , Bushnell TRS 25 it will cowitness with the iron sights.

The M8 is awesome and the SHG sits just as low, but the ability to cowitness irons with the Blackfeather
"RS" is greatly diminished because of how the butt stock is located above the bottom shelf of the receiver.
I find it pretty much impossible to use my iron sights with the BF RS...
NOTE:
The UltiMAK M8 will not fit over the BF RS op rod guide.
The SHG fits the M14.ca op rod guide perfectly and it's self centering/leveling.
