Does anyone know of scope mounts for a old Mossberg 640 Chuckster in .22 Magnum. It came with the old Weaver fixed power scope that has clouded over.

Thanks. Dan

By dovetail do you mean the receiver is grooved? If so then you should just need 'rings for a .22 grooved receiver'. Weaver calls these 'Tip-off' rings, but they should be readily available in several brands.

Agreed, however, the Chuckster for some reason has the grooves pretty far forward. This makes most scopes somewhat difficult to mount as the eye relief is messed up. It’s too far forward fora normal scope, too close for a long eye relief. Someone does make a cantilever mount that I’m going to try to get.

BKL offer some different rings for various mounting challenges. They're all I'd probably use if I could find them locally, but I have bought them from D&L in BC. These might work;

There are clamp-on picatinny/weaver rails that grab the dovetails, but being pic/weaver, you can use far more common weaver rings. Depending on how small the receiver is, you could use a pair of these?

Check out BKL's site. EGW might have a clamp-on weaver rail too, can't remember.
