scope mount for norinco m14

Bassett machine mount

I've got a Basset machine works mount on mine. Comes from Dripping Springs Texas. Mr Basset is great to deal with, ships to Canada, and the mount does exactly what it's advertized to do. Holds zero very well, returns to zero after removal and replacement. High or low mounts available. The mount comes with a wrench for removal and replacement so that the torque applied to the mount is consistent. I have a Millet TR1 4x16 30mm tube on it and even with the heavy scope, I've not experienced any problems with it. $150 dollar range. I also believe this is also used by some US military units. Independent test reports are available on the internet for these mounts.

Stay away from aluminum M14 mounts....... period. ARMS 18 or the SEI mount IMHO.............I never had any issues with either of those.........

Actually, some people do have problems fitting an ARMS18 to their Norinco and Springfield receivers. Don't assume every rifle installation will be the same: it isn't. If I were to buy an ARMS18 again, I would send it to M14doctor for installation and avoid the headaches I had... . But clearly, lots of people have problems with their installations so you may be better off paying an expert to install it right from the get go...

Here's my last post in case you missed it:

"Sadlak's aluminum three point contact mounts will hold zero, will not shoot loose and are as reliable as their steel models given the material differences." That quote is from the owner of Sadlak Industries LLC - 860-742-0227 Ext 14. In other words, there is nothing wrong with the "right" aluminum mount."

First you try following directions then if you have problems that cannot be sorted out you send it to the experts! Just my 2 cents!

I don't understand the alignment issues some guys have with the arms 18. I've installed dozens and dozens to all import years of M14s/M305 rifles without issue.
I do toss the horseshoe washer however as I find it is probably causing the issues most guys have with alingment.
I also use a steel dowel, 2 ft long to use as an alignment guage,

Ejection issues are solved with correcting ejector and extractor spring lengths and sometimes replacing extractor with usgi.

I have a McCann industries mount. Sits higher, easily removable. Aircraft steel. Doesn't move.
