Does locktite work when attaching a steel scope mount and screws to an aluminum receiver? I normally use Locktite blue on critical scope base screws but is the chemical formula compatible with aluminum? Leupold QD mount on a Sauer 202 lightweight if it matters.

I would suspect that loctite works on it's own chemical composition, drying on itself, regardless of the metal used. Might be a good question posed to the manufacturer.

Yes, used that way in automotive everyday.

We used loctite on steel screws in aluminum housing at my place of work. The equipment is used in vehicles in the middle east. Never had any shook loose in the past 16 years or metal damage when we service the equipment.

...Loctite doesn't interact chemically with the material of either thread any more than a glue would. It either sticks or it doesn't; and since loctite works on steel and aluminum independently, it will work on a combination of them.

If ever you need to remove the screws, use a small soldering iron that you apply on the screws and they will easily come off.
