Also they have different expantion rates with temperature change. And aluminum crystalizes and hardens when bent repitedly same as titanium.
Ya sure, some aluminum can be made as hard as some steel but some steel can be made harder than any aluminum. IMO steel is still the best for a steel receiver and likewise good hard aluminum is best on an aluminum base or receiver.It also depends on the type of Aluminum used. There are many types some as hard as steel. Cheap aluminum is just that though.
