scope mount torque

I torque all my scope ring screws to 15 inch-pounds regardless of size or style. Then I torque any tactical scope mount bolts to 50 inch-pounds, standard Ruger mounts to 25 inch-pounds, Remington 8-40 scope base screws to 35 inch-pounds while standard 6-40 go 25 inch-pounds. I use a high end Snap-On Torque wrench. Hope this helps. Steve

Thanks SteveB. I bought a torque measuring screwdrive (Utica 35) and I'm installing a scope on a rifle and figure I'll do it right. Some scope mounts come with instructions specifying torque and others, nothing but an allen key or torx key.
