Hi,

I would like to get some feedback.

I will use a NF 2.5-10x42 on my 1727F which is on my 1712 at the moment.

I have lots of NF rings, so would like to install a rail on my 1727F

Anyone can help me?

Is it a good idea, or should I buy talley rings. Money is not a problem, I just want the best.

I looked at DIP rail, it is aluminium. I looked also at the titanium rail from Murphy Precision.

Also, can anyone tell me where I can buy Rosin for mounting my scopes??

Thanks for your help

Best regards

The following may not be what the OP is looking for, but it's some general information for readers. It can apply to hunting appropriate low-powered scopes like the OP's or to those more specific to target shooting.

As you know, the 1727F comes with two 11mm dovetail bases that are attached by screws. (Unlike other Anschutz receivers, the 1727F receiver itself is not grooved.) These bases can be replaced with a rail (or perhaps with weaver/picatinny-style bases, if available). With any rail properly attached, there should be no difference in performance, as long as bases don't interfere with ejection. Nightforce or other weaver/picatinny-style rings can be used.

Alternatively, the 11mm dovetail bases can be used to install the scope using dovetail rings. Good quality dovetail rings can be used on a rimfire without any concerns relating to scope movement.

I would opt for a rail, as it gives more flexibility in mounting. Can also be purchased with slope to allow for longer range shooting if thats your intention. Most guns used in rimfire PRS style matches use aluminum rails and these guns are pounded around a lot more than than a hunting/plinking rifle. I have two competition rimfires with aluminun rails and have never had any problem. With good optics and rings the scope can be removed and returned with no impact changes that Ive ever seen. The grade of aluminum has a lot too do with the strength as Im sure your aware. Beautiful gun you have also.

The Talley rimfire rings to fit the 11mm dovetail are a PITA and not worth the money. You cannot swap them on and off like rings made for a picatinny rail. As soon as you loosen the screw the scope can rotate or slide. There are other brands of rings for the 11mm dovetail which do not release the scope.

Notwithstanding I'd mount a pic rail.

Nordic Marksman sells a Contessa 0 MOA rail that will mount on the 1727F but it looks like they are out of stock at the moment.

The DIP rails are excellent if you can source one. Why are you worried about it being aluminum? There's next to no recoil from a.22 LR so it will never be damaged.

Area419 rails are also manufactured to fit Anschutz. I have them on a couple of my Annie's. I need to modify the one on my 54MSR; a bit low and brass hits it. It was ok on my 1761. Nordic Marksman sell them, but out of stock at the moment.

Just FYI

I went with Murphy precision, it's more expensive but the quality is awesome

If I could I would have gone with anything from NEAR Precision but he don't make em for the anschutz
