Scope mounting question?

I assume your AR-15 has a flat top (picatinny rails). In such case, any Weaver-style rings will do fine. Depending on how you position your eye when shooting, either low or medium height rings would do.

Can you suggest me a brand and an online retailer? I'm having a hard time finding anything like this on Canadian sites...

The Burris PEPR sights are good and carried by P&D (sight sponsor), you can also get ADM (American Defence) mounts through The Shooting Edge, Target Sports, and Arms East.

While all the suggested brands and dealers are fine and will work, even plain Weaver 1" rings will do if cost is a concern. You can get them from any gun store or supplier on line and you can always upgrade to one of the more "tactical" ones suggested above later on, if you keep the same scope.

My two bits.

Keep in mind, if you have a front tower sight on your AR - you need a high scope mount, unless you don't want to see your target through your scope.

My recommendation on a mount. Buy the cheapest one you can find, shoot it for a season, and if it doesn't hold a zero, buy a more expensive one. I'm currently doing that with a Trijicon Accupoint, using an RRA High Rise Canteliver. If that doesn't work, I'll probably move up to an American Defence Recon mount.

AFAIK, no scope mount perfectly returns to zero if removed, so splurging more money on your mount/rings than your scope seems like false economy imo.

See this vid on the ADM Recon mount (4:28 in)
