I have just mounted a busnell elite 2.5 x 10 power scope using medium height millet rings on a remington 700XCR. The problem is I can see the bottom 4 -5 inches of the barrel when I look through the scope. Have I used the wrong rings or do I need to shim up the front end of the scope. Anybody know?

Strange, I've never been able to see mine on 2.5X......but as long as the rifle zeros, it's fine. if not, you may have the wrong bases, or have them installed backwards....
