scope mounts on post 64 model 70

I'm wondering if the scope mounts from a pre-64 model 70 would work on a post-64 model 70? They're both long action, the pre-64 is a .264 mag, and the post-64 is a 30/06. Thanks in advance for the help. Just trying to help a buddy out who is in desperate need of mounts, and all I've got is the pre-64.

The hole spacing is different. They won't work.

if you have a one piece base it will fit.....two piece won't...rear hole spacing is different....

Thanks for the replies fellas, I managed to help him out by pulling the scope off of my .225, it had 2 piece bases so it was ok to use. I hadn't thought of that rifle when I posted the question.
