The other thing regarding a high enough mag to see your bullet holes is that it gives you instant feedback on your bench/eye position, consistancy of hold etc. If I have to get up to look through the spotting scope, my middle aged brain cannot as easily compute what I did right or what I did wrong when taking the shot.
The above won't apply to natural marksmen but guys like me
that have to relearn to shoot practically every time they hit the range then its worth thinking about.
