Scope Problem

Tried out my new Bushnell 4200 today and found I had to turn the clicks to the extreme up (farthest it could go) and as well to the extreme right to get it to center. Figured it might be my mounts so I took it off, turned the clicks all the way back, and tried it on another gun....Same results. I'm getting ready to send it to Bushnell but thought I'd better check to see if anyone else had a problem like this. Maybe there's a quick fix?

A real bummer since the scope is brand new.

what type of 4200? I don't own one, but by the way thigs are, I want to know which one it is, so the temptation will be out of the way.

I've never had a problem with a 4200 of any kind before, and always thought they were the best all around hunting scope. This one is a 3-9x40.

How are you "getting it to center"?
If its happening on two rifles, maybe your bore-sighter is to blame?
Just a thought.

Yes, it is centering, but only with my clicks turned as far as they can go, and this is at 25yds. It was exactly same on two guns. At 100yds, I would have no room for adjustment. And I don't like the idea of the scope being used like this. I don't have a bore sighter. With lever guns, I find the only thing to do is get it on paper and go from there. When I first put the scope on with the factory settings, it was firing in dirt at 25 yds, and it took me all the clicks I can get out of it, to get it to center at 25 yds. Definitely something wrong.....It's packed and ready to go back to bushnell. It bugs me to have to pay $10 for thier fee, plus another $15 or so shipping, on a new item.

What type of mounts are you using? Are they the same type of mounts on both guns? Did you just switch the mounts and scope to a different rifle?

If I have to mail it back to the store, just as well send it to Bushnell. Mounts are the same, weaver on both. I put another 4200 on one of the guns and it worked perfect. I've ruled out everything except the scope. Since this is the second Bushnell I've had problems within the last year or so, needless to say, I'm peeved. Guess I'll be switching to the darker side. Norm99,
If you are thinking of changing brands (Good move) you should be able to take advantage of Bushnell's no questions asked, money back return policy for Elites. That would be better than selling it as a used and fixed scope three months from now. Even if you want to keep it, it should still be faster than Bushnell's warranty service.

I was thinking the same thing. If you used the same mounts, something might be wrong with them, not the scope.

How can there be anything wrong with the mounts? Try one scope and the result is my previously mentioned problem, try another scope (a different 4200) on same gun, works perfect. Has to be the scope. Mailed today, back to bushnell. I hope they keep it.
